Johanna started to put pen to paper from a very young age. First she did try to decorate some of the furniture, of course, but later on became acquainted with certain rules and boundaries of creation. She has from then on been quite the little master with paper, canvas, pulp or any material she has started to work with.
In the early 90's Johanna was introduced to Paint in Windows 3.11 and thus to the world of digital art. That was the first push but the real conversion occured in 2003 when she was introduced to Photoshop 7. From then on she became an Information Systems student to further discover the digital realm and now she works mostly digitally, although from time to time revisits the traditional mediums she grew up with and loved.
This site is constructed on TextEdit by (my small&anemic) hand and constantly tested on Safari-browser. The next best browser options are Mozilla Firefox, Opera and later Google Chrome. Internet Explorer is poorly supported as it is no longer available for my platform! Everybody may have their cup of tea anyway they like, though, and even that one will be tested from time to time. I'm sorry if I fail to check the validity some days when updating!
The main categories of this site are on the top banner: Mei, Portfolio, CV and such. Each may have separate optional subpages and subcategories, which can generally be found on the right hand side of the main content area. Watch for links to sub-subcontent popping up on different pages. Recommended sites and the author's selections for worthy places to look at can be found at the bottom of the subcategory links, unless there is a shoutbox or a comment field laid out for your broadcasting convenience.
September, 2009: The wedding-site was added. Site has been migrating to another hosting service and some links are still broken.
October, 2008: The site is for the most part complete, the portfolio has the most important pieces on display and the links, fonts and the overall contents has been revised.
September, 2008: The layout is coming together.
All (fairies and other) graphic elements on this site are of my own design. Most have been drawn by hand on paper or in Corel Painter with a Wacom tablet. If you are interested in my drawings please go to the portfolio to see more or contact me directly. In this layout I have discarded the "web2.0" and gone for something that could be found scribbled on the sidelines of anyone's schoolbooks, at least of a daydreamer like me.
The grayscaled sketchy look of the design is a good background for the more vivid images of the site contents. The main purpose of this site is to be the setting in which to present my work.
